Paris, Paris...

Jaaa, manche von euch haben sich schon gefragt, warum ich mich denn unbedingt so schön fühlen wollte... Heute gibt es die Auflösung: wir waren in Paris! Mein Mann hatte spontan geschäftlich dort zu tun und da er gerade erst von einer Geschäftsreise zurückkam und nicht schon wieder alleine los wollte, hat er mich gefragt, ob ich nicht mitkommen möchte! Und ob! Ich war bisher noch nie in Paris, kannte nur den Flughafen - und bin einfach absolut fasziniert von dieser Stadt! Wunderbar war es!

Und ich war der Meinung, man kann doch nicht durch Paris laufen - die Stadt der Mode und der schönen Frauen - und sich dabei nicht auch selbst ganz und gar schön zu fühlen!


Some of you already wondered why I wanted to feel so beautiful some days ago... Today I will tell you why: we went to Paris! My husband had to go there on business and he asked me whether I wanted to join him! And how! I've never been to Paris before, I only knew the airport, and now I'm really fascinated, it's such a beautiful city! It was wonderful!


And I didn't want to walk around in Paris - the city of fashion and beautiful women - without feeling really beautiful myself!

Ich nehme euch ein wenig mit durch diese Stadt, die ich unbedingt mal wieder bereisen möchte... Ich war beeindruckt von den prunkvollen Gebäuden, aber auch von den Hausfassaden, grünen Balkonen und kleinen verwinkelten Gässchen...

I'll take you with me on a walk through the city. I definetely want to come back one day. I was impressed by the pompous buildings,  the beautiful house fronts, the green balkonies and the small alleys....

Im La Fayette konnte ich nicht widerstehen, ein paar schöne Dinge mitzunehemen und absolut begeistert hat mich das Ladurée: allein das Schaufenster war schon ein Traum und diese vielen Leckereien...

I couldn't resist buying some nice things in La Fayette and I was really enthusiastic about the Ladurée: the shopwindow itself was decorated so wonderfully and all those delicacies inside...

An der Seine bin ich entlangspaziert, weiter in Richtung der wohl bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeit der Stadt...

I walked along the Seine, further towards the most famous sight of Paris...

Ich bin direkt ein bisschen verliebt in diese Stadt mit all ihren Eigenheiten...

I'm really a bit in love with this city with all it's peculiarities....

Mitgebracht habe ich starken Muskelkater in den Beinen (durch die gefülten 20 gelaufenen Meilen) und einen ziemlichen Sonnenbrand (angekündigt waren Wolken, tatsächlich gab es prallen Sonnenschein) - und viele tolle Eindrücke. Es hat sich gelohnt!
 

Now I have really sore muscles in my legs ( feels like I've walked for at least 20 miles), a sunburn on my shoulders (the forecast said something about clouds but it was verry sunny) - but it was definetely woth it!

Private Spa

Es muss nicht unbedingt ein Wellness-Hotel sein... Gerne nehme ich mir selber etwas Zeit für mich, bringe die Kinder bei der Oma unter oder schicke sie mit meinem Mann auf einen Wochenend-Trip und gönne mir mein ganz persönliches Spa...
Ein paar Stunden Zeit, Ruhe, gute Kosmetik, angenehme Düfte - und ich bin wie ausgewechselt!

You don't have to travel to a first-rate spa... I sometimes like taking some time off, having a day just for myself, taking the kids to their grandparents or send them away for a weekend-trip with my husband - and treat myself to a private spa...
A few silent hours, calm, good cosmetics, nice fragrances - and I'm full of new energy again!

Ich mag die Produkte von "sting in the tail" - allein das Design ist schon so schön, und dieser Duft...

I like the brand "sting in the tail" - the design is great and the smell is so lovely...

Seaside Walks

Zum Wochenbeginn nehme ich euch mit auf einen kleinen Strandspaziergang. Für mich gibt es wenig entspannenderes, als nach einem anstrengenden Tag noch ein Wenig am Meer entlangzuspazieren - einfach perfekt!

A new week has begun and today I will take you with me on a walk along the beach. After a stressful day, for me there is nothing more relaxing than a walk at the seaside - it's just perfect!

Ich mag die Kontraste, den Geruch, die sanfte Brise, das Rauschen im Hintergrund... Und meine Mädels lieben es, Muscheln und schöne Steine zu sammeln...

I like the contrasts, the smell of the salty water and the sand,  the gentle breeze, the sound of the sea... And my little girls, they like collecting seashells and beautiful stones - they can't get enough...

Wir können nicht ans Wasser gehen, ohne von Lebensfreude erfüllt zu werden - es ist fast ein wenig magisch...

As we get to the sea we always feel this zest for life - it's really magical!

Mütter - Mums

Ich kann mich glücklich schätzen: für mich wird Muttertag nämlich gleich 2x im Jahr gefeiert. Zuerst der englische Muttertag im April, und nun der deutsche Muttertag. Eine der tollen Dinge am binational sein! Ist das nicht super, gleich zwei Mal von den Kindern bedacht zu werden? Mit Küssen zum Morgen, einer liebevollen Bastelei zum Frühstück und dem Versprechen "Du muss heute mal nichts machen!" zum Mittag.

I can count myself lucky: we celebrate Mother's Day twice a year - first we had Mothering Sunday in April, now today it's Mother's Day in Germany. One of the good things about being binational. Isn't it great to be celebrate twice? With kisses in the mornig, lovely crafted things for breakfast and the promise "You don't have to do anything today!" for lunch...

Und wisst ihr was? Ich finde, jede Mutter sollte weitaus öfter gefeiert und verwöhnt werden! Denn Mütter leisten jeden Tag so viel, da sollten wir doch viel öfter mal dran denken!


And you know what? I think, every mum should be celebrated far more often! Because mothers achieve so much every day, we should think about that more often than once or twice a year!

Also, ihr Mütter, denkt immer wieder daran: ihr seid großartig!

So, mums everywhere, keep that in mind: you are gorgeous!
